What are the benefits of using mulch?
- reduces watering by retaining soil moisture
- mulch is natures insulation blanket, keeps soil cool in the summer, warmer in the winter.
- helps control weeds when spread 2-4 inches deep.
- can reduce risk of damage from weed whacking, lawn mowers.
- can create a “well cared for look”.
Does the color wash off the mulch?
No, although the bond between the pigment and the wood chips is purely mechanical ,the pigment is anchored so firmly in the fibrous outer layer of the dry material that is doesn’t wash out, even during periods of prolonged rainfall, when the garden is watered or exposure to dew or frost.
Where can mulch be used?
Mulch can be used on soil areas such as:

- Around the base of Trees

- Running tracks (shock absorbing function)

Is colored mulch environmentally friendly?
The colorant we use is made of pure synthesized iron oxides which, if properly used are ecologically harmless. The pigment of the colorant used is the same that is required of colorants for children’s toys and finger paints. It is classified as non-hazardous in water which means that it also has no detrimental effect on the quality of drinking water. Iron oxide occurs naturally, making up 5% of the earth’s crust. The application of colored mulch has a minimal impact on the natural composition of soil.
How do I calculate how much mulch I need for my yard?
We recommend you spread mulch 3 inches deep. If you spread the mulch at this depth one cubic yard covers approximately 100 square feet. To figure how much to buy you will need to find the square footage of the area you wish to mulch and divide that area by 100. Length x width / 100
